
Charles B. Manning, Jr.
Charles B. Manning, Jr., joined the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) as vice president and chief compliance officer in February 2009. In April 2011, he accepted the additional responsibilities for oversight of the Human Resources Department.
Mr. Manning has more than 35 years experience in the electric power industry, most recently as chief compliance officer and senior vice president for participant and corporate affairs at MEAG Power in Atlanta, Ga.
Prior to joining MEAG Power as chief operating officer, Mr. Manning served as general manager for Austin Energy from 1998-2002. During his tenure as general manager, he served on the ERCOT Board of Directors representing the municipally owned utilities segment.
Before joining Austin Energy in 1997 as vice president of power delivery, Mr. Manning worked for Florida Power Corporation. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
